Hi, I'm Angela. I am an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. My Ojibwe name is Waabigun (Flower) and I belong to the Name (Sturgeon) Clan. I graduated high school in Park Rapids, MN. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work at Minnesota State University of Moorhead. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2006. I am currently pursuing my Doctoral in Public Administration through Capella University. I have worked for 19 years in the mental health field for the White Earth Nation and two years for the Leech Lake Reservation. I am trained in culturally specific trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, DC:0-3, PCIT, ASIST, SafeTALK and grief and loss. As the Director of Counseling at Minnesota State University Moorhead I plan on integrating a holistic approach to services in which affect people spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally. My name is Chuck and I am very excited to be serving Minnesota State University – Moorhead as the Director of Accessibility Resources and ADA Coordinator for students. Originally, I am from Arizona and I have worked in higher education since 2006. I completed two bachelors and two Masters Degrees from Northern Arizona University. More recently, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Disability Policy & Practice (Northern Arizona University and a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management & Homeland Security (Arizona State University). My breadth of education derive around my passion for accessibility and creating opportunities for all students with functional needs/disabilities. In my role at MSUM, I look forward to working with students to create a “level playing field” and provide access to opportunities to have your best experience. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and enjoying the great outdoors. I am so excited to call MSUM my home and cannot wait to meet and serve all of you! Go Dragons!

Dr. Caitlin Johnson (Dr. J.) is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). Caitlin has a B.S. in English, M.P.M. in Business Project Management, and M.Ed. in Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment. In Spring 2021, she graduated with a Ph.D. in Adult & Community Education from North Dakota State University. She is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and grew up on her home reservation. She started her career in education at the Turtle Mountain Community College where she taught various English courses, before transitioning to secondary education. She taught high school English for two years at the Turtle Mountain Community High School and served as English Department Chair. She transitioned to alternative education after moving to the Fargo-Moorhead area where she taught for three years. Caitlin’s research interests are multicultural education, indigenous education methods, culture as medicine, alternative education, and decolonizing methodologies.

I serve as the primary media relations contact. I particularly enjoy sharing our student and alumni stories. I hold a B.S. in mass communications and an MBA, both from MSUM, and have more than 30 years of experience working in marketing and communications.
