Research interests: Aquaponics is the combination of aquaculture and hydroponics for food production that uses a closed system that produces a symbiotic relationship between the fish and plants. In order for increased plant growth and development to occur, many processes, such as photosynthesis, respiration, biochemical alterations, and adaptations to plants have to occur at the cellular level. The appearance of any induced change to the “basal” biology of higher plants is ultimately manifested within the plant cell wall matrix.
