Economics, Law & Politics Department Scholarships

Minnesota State Moorhead Department of Economics, Law and Politics offers a variety of scholarships for current and incoming students including, economics, international studies, paralegal and political science. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1.

• Economics Alumni Emerging Scholar's Award

  This scholarship is for newly entering, first-year, freshman students who have a declared major in Economics. 

  Submit an essay of no more than 600 words on:  "Given the recession caused by COVID-19, should the Federal Government provide more fiscal stimulus?"

  Essays will be evaluated on content, clarity, grammar and style.
• Economics General

  This scholarship is awarded to students who have declared Economics as their major and demonstrate a strong academic standing.

  No additional requirements are needed.
• Eugene Philipps

  This scholarship is awarded to students who are declared majors in Economics. 

  No additional requirements are needed.
• James L. Danielson

  This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are seniors or entering their senior year. 

  No additional requirements are needed.
