Prepare to make a meaningful difference through Minnesota State Moorhead's School of Social Work. Our online and on campus programs combine a diverse curriculum with practical learning experiences that build the knowledge and skills needed for professional social work practice. Choose from an on campus or online Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or an online Master of Social Work (MSW).
You will experience a strong history of success in the new MSW program. For nearly 50 years, Minnesota State Moorhead has educated social workers at the undergraduate level. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has continually accredited MSUM's undergraduate social work degree since 1973, which is the first year they started accrediting undergraduate programs. The graduate program is also CSWE-accredited.
Moorhead's MSW was recently ranked #2 Best MSW Program in Minnesota and the #1 public university MSW program by counselingpsychology.org. The MSW program earned this ranking with its online delivery option and unique specializations: Multicultural Clinical and Social Change & Leadership.

The Minnesota State Moorhead School of Social Work is a member of the Child Welfare Consortium. Funds have been allocated for students planning to work in a child welfare setting upon graduation.
As a BSW student, you’ll complete a 480-hour internship where you’ll apply your knowledge and skills while preparing for licensed social work practice, graduate school or a meaningful career.
